On this day in 2019, a deadly EF-3 tornado with estimated peak wind speeds of 145 miles per hour (mph) struck Ruston, Louisiana.
The length of this tornado’s path was 11 miles, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Shreveport, LA.
According to the NWS in Shreveport, the width of this tornado’s path was 1000 yards. Sadly, the tornado killed 2 people (a mother and her son).
