On this day in 1997, a damaging F1 tornado struck Miami, Florida. The estimated peak wind speeds of this tornado are unknown at this time. 

However, the wind speeds were estimated at 100 to 110 miles per hour, according to Adrian’s Weather (adriansweather.com).

The length of this tornado’s path was 8 miles, according to the above mentioned website. According to Adrian’s Weather, the width of this tornado’s path was 30 to 150 yards wide. 

Miami 

The tornado produced an estimated half a million dollars in damage as it moved through Miami. It was reportedly on the ground for 15 minutes.
