Tornado caught on camera near Williamsburg, Iowa

A large tornado was caught on camera near Williamsburg, Iowa this past Monday (16th January, 2023).

The footage in the above video was captured by storm chaser Corey Bull. You can read the description for the YouTube uploaded video below. 

“EF-1 tornado near Williamsburg, IA. No injuries or deaths reported. Stay sued in the open for most of its life.”

Following a survey by the National Weather Service, the tornado was rated EF-1 (find out more here). You can read an NWS-produced summary below:

“A tornado developed just northeast of Williamsburg, and south of Interstate 80. The tornado blew over a sam tractor trailer on I-80., then continued to the northeast. The tornado caused minor damage to a cattle shelter, and tree damage at a farmstead, before lifting near U.S. Highway 151. The tornado was on the ground for roughly 8 mintues, along a path estimated at 4.7 miles. There were no injuries.”
